The company actually makes more money by sending trucks around the block — where they may make other deliveries on the way — so that they get rid of these wait times.
Secondly, far more accidents happen during left turns. They’re one of the most dangerous things any driver can do. If the turn is not at a light, it’s all about perception. The driver has to decide when it’s safe to turn and then cross in front of other traffic. Even a minor mistake, like misjudging another car’s speed, can lead to a wreck. These accidents don’t happen with right turns.
